"The phenomenal growth of the Yeshivah, the only educa- tional institution of its kind in Michigan, forced us to assume this obligation," Morris W. Zack, budget committee chairman, ex- plained. "We now have close to 600 students taking accredited secular and Hebrew studies from pre-kindergarten through all three years of high school. NAME NEW DIRECTOR The appointment of Rabbi Samuel H. Prero, member of the distinguished New York family and scholar of eminence, to the post of executive director of Beth Yehudah was announced. A drive to raise the funds needed because of the expanded activities was launched and members of the board took it upon themselves to enroll the support of Detroiters in a plan outlined by Rabbi Prero. "The organization of over 300 Jewish young adult councils in America is an encouraging sign that Jewish youth is identifying itself with the community in a democratic manner," Pins de- clared.
