new song not yet released

but soon to be heard and seen
in a movie which will star Toni

t. Harper. Toni, who was here with
her mother, told us, she is all of
11 years old and has been danc-
ing since her fourth birthday.
," Toni is used
i to Hollywood
where she will
e return this
1 ,f week to begin
her new pic-
ture "Make Be-
lieve Ball-
room."
' anha t t an
el" her first
cture in
which she co-
Helen
stars with Gloria Jean and Ross
Ford, will soon be released.
Toni was crowned Queen of
Candy in Chicago, but her big-
gest thrill was when her dog
had nine puppies.
We wondered if Toni saw the
Detroit Tigers, to which she re-
plied, "I don't alike to see people
play, I like to play with them."
Cute for an 11-year-old!

BACK TO SCHOOL ... There
are good chances for this year's
swimming team at Central with
new members Sid Schulman, Al
Weinstein and Morty Knopper.
The greatest hopes still lie with
Frank Stout and Sid Klaus, last
year's stars . . . Leaving Detroit
for army life were Herbie Bar-
ish, Sonny Klein and Lefty Ka-
back . • , School seems very dull
to Mickey Woolfe who, while in
Toronto this summer, saved an
elderly man from drowning. Her
reward came when all her
friends joined in a big surprise
party for her.
