Takes Bride in N. Y.

Wed at Candlelight in Beth El

The marriage of Louise Leav-
itt, daughter of Mr. and • Mrs.
Moses Leavitt of Great Neck,
L. I., to James R. Zuckerman,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zuck-
erman, of the Book Cadillac Ho-
tel, was solemnized Aug. 15 at
the Hampshire House, New York
City. Dr. Jonah B. Wise per-
formed the ceremony.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
gown of ivory satin with a bouf-
fant skirt, and a bertha of chan-
tilly lace finished the long-
sleeved, fitted bodice. Her veil of
fine tulle was attached to a
headdress of thatching •lace and
she carried a white satin Bible
with an arrangement of white
orchids. •
Janet Anzel of New York was
maid of honor and Dr. Alwyn
Freeman was his cousin's best
man.
Besides the bridegroom's par-
ents, Detroiters who attended the
wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Leo
Zuckerman, Mr. and Mrs. Alex-
ander Freeman, Mr. and Mrs.
John L. Ginn, Mr. and Mrs. Sid-
ney Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Royal
Oppenheim and Sydney Jacobs.
Following a honeymoon in
New England and Canada, Mr.
and Mrs. Zuckerman will make
their home in Ann Arbor where
she is a senior at the university
and he attends the law school.

At a candlelight ceremony in Temple Beth El Aug. 19, Mar-
jorie Lois Metz, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Metz, became
the, bride of William Zupner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Zupnitski.
Dr. B. Benedict Glazer officiated.
, The bride wore a white faille gown resembling the robe of a
queen of the Edwardian era. Her full length veil of silk illusion
was held in place by a cap of chantilly lace. She carried a mother
of pearl Bible adorned with white orchids.
The maid of honor was Estelle Zupnitski. Bridesmaids were
Mrs. Maurice Hauser, Beatrice Frank and Bernice Tobor. Leonard
-tKrim was best man and ushers were Sol Pokart, Bernard Zup-
nitski and Bernard Freedman.
Nina Hauser was junior bridesmaid, Joan Hauser, flower girl
and Mark Hauser, ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the
Hotel Stetter.
After a three-week motor trip to Miami Beach, the couple
will make their home at 2911 Monterey avenue.
