Before the war the youngsters were sent from Germany to sanctuary in Sweden, while their mother fled to Shanghai. Soon after reaching haven in the U. S. Mrs. Wer- theimer began making arrangements for immigration of the children. They arrived in New York City with the aid of United Service for New Americans.
