No, I would not. I think the "Americans United for Jsrael"

Because of the persecution of
Jews in Europe and the fight for
a Jewish Homeland, Jewish col-
, lege students, I
believe, have
taken a deeper
interest' in the
welfare of their
people.
I don't think
that very many
Jewish college
stucents abide
by he customs
of orthodox
Jewry, but at
the same time they haven't for-
saken their heritage.
Instead, they have accepted the
changes in religion and culture,
keeping always in mind that
they are Jews.
BEATRICE STOFFER, 2039 Euc-
lid avenue, Central High stu-
dent.
I know a lot of Jewish col-
lege students and I don't think
they are drifting away from
Jewish ties.
Much of their
time is taken
up with studies
and they can-
not participate
as fully in
Jewish affairs
as those not go-
ing to school.
But they still
are interested.
Jewish ac-
tivities in America are in large
measure the same as thc.ze of
other groups and cannot be iden-
tified with Jews alone. Since Jew-
ish college students prefer these,
it may seem that they are drift-
ing away from interests consid-
ered exclusively Jewish.
MRS. NATHAN SCHECHTER,
2073 Plngree avenue, house-
wife.
I think the opposite is true.
The persecution o( Jews in Eu-
rope and the struggle for a Jew-
ish State have
done much to
unify all Jews.
Jewish c o I-
lege students
have drifted
away from the
customs of or-
thodox Jewry,
but they have
not stopped be-
ing Jews.
The big thing
,. to remember is that Jewish in-
terests have been constantly
changing and are no longer much
different from those of non-Jews.
