Final Rites Sunday

Final Rites Held

Military services for Lt. Her-
bert S. Geller will be held at 11
a.m., Sunday at the Ira Kauf-
man Chapel under the auspices
of the Rosenwald Post, Ameri-
can Legion.
Lt. Geller, a pilot, was killed
March 19, 1945, on a flying mis-
sion in the European Theater. He
was 22 years of age.
Surviving are his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Geller, of 18051
Greenlawn avenue; one brother,
Harvey; and his grandmother,
Mrs. Charlotte Weinberg.

at Hampton School

Temple Israel will hold Sab-
bath Eve services for the re-
mainder of the summer from

Eserow, who was killed In
action Aug.14, 1944, in France.
He was 34 years old. Surviv-
ing are his wife, Rachel; one
daughter, Harriet; his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Eserow,
2717 Glendale avenue; one
brother, Jack; and one sister,
Mrs. Etta Pastor.

Sabbath Eve services, July
16, at Bnai Moshe will be at
7:30 and Sabbath morning ser-
vices at 9. Weekday services
are at 7:15 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

New Committee

Sidney Allen Gives
$2,500 to Center

The Jewish Center has receiv-
ed a gift of $2,500 from Sidney
J. Allen in memory of his
mother, Mrs. Mamie Allen.
The donation is part of a purse
given by friends to Allen on
the occasion of his 50th birthday.
It will go to set up the Mamie
Allen Fund to finance special
programs for youth at the Cen-
ter.

Although it had contributed to
the Allied Jewish Campaign
through the Council of Mother's
Clubs, the 12th Street Mother's
Club has made an additional
gift to the drive.
Heading the special committee
responsible for the club's extra
contribution were Mrs. Gertrude
Garmil and Mts. Fanny Wa ldfo-

gel.

late Fred M. Butzel has been
passed by the subcommittee on
scholarship service of the social
planning committee, Jewish We-
fare Federation, in honor of "his
great contribution to the organi-
zation."

The annual picnic of Congre-
gation Beth Tikvah will take

Park. The affair is sponsored by
the congregation in conjunction

ficer Seymour L. Sobole were
held Tuesday at the Ira Kauf-
man Chapel, with military hon-
ors by the Rosenwald Post,
American Legion.
F/O Sobole was killed Jan. 21,
1945, when his plane collided
with another plane while re-
turning from a mission over Ger-
many. lie was 23 years old.
A law student at the Univer-
sity of Detroit before entering
the service, he is survived by his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E.
Sobole, of 108 Woodmere ave-
nue, and a brother, Earl.
