keynote address by Rose Bloom
of Toledo when the Business
and Professional Division of
Hadassah holds its Tri-City In-
stitute Sunday at the Wilshire
Hotel.

Miss Bloom is a national board

Election Tuesday

the annual meeting and election
of the Jewish Home for Aged
at 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 29
at the Home, 11501 Petoskey
avenue.

Chairman at the meeting will
be Myron A. Keys, president.
He will r eport on recre-
ational programming, occupa-
tional therapy and other in-
novations of the year 1947-48.
The report of the nominating
committee will be given by Jo-
seph Bernstein. Also serving on
t h e committee are Arthur
Fleischman and Dr. Benjamin
Welling.

More than $20,000 will be sent
from Detroit for hospital aid in
Palestine from proceeds for the
Jan Peerce concert sponsored by
the National Sick Fluid in Is-
rael at the Masonic.

be part of the Detroit contribu-
tion, M. Manuel Merzon, presi-
dent of Detroit Zionist-Revision-
ists who were among the show's
backers, said. The other money
will go directly to Israel to help
the sick and the wounded and
their families, he said. •

Frank Kingdon, author and
journalist who was the principal
speaker, urged an immediate boy-
cott on British goods. He con-
demned Detroit Labor Zionists
who passed out pamphlets at-
tacking the show's sponsors, de-
ploring the division in Jewish
ranks at a time of crisis in the
Holy Land.
Barney Ross, former light-
weight and welterweight cham-
pion of the world, told the
audience that he was going to
become a citizen of Israel.
Peerce, Metropolitan tenor,
sang three arias. Detroit can-
tors and an orchestra led by
Herschel Leib, participated.
