THEY'RE SO FUNNY and so
nice. Of course we mean Jack
Benny and Phil Harris with
whom we chatted last weekend.
Jack came out with this ad-
vice to you, future comedians
and thespians: "If you have real
talent, use it at every opportu-
nity; do all you can to get prac-
tice.. By that I mean, be an
amateur, try to put on small
shows, entertain your friends at
parties and gatherings."
Jack looked into space a min-
ute and for a moment even lost
his grin and then smiled at us
reassuringly.
"After that you must just
wait, maybe come to a big city
and if you are any good you
will be found out but there's
one thing you can't forget, you
just have to have a really deep
down interest in show business."

PHIL HARRIS came off the
stage, shook hands with us.
smiled and ordered: "Tell all
the people I'm the funniest thing
alive, and am I good!"
But Phil told us, "I really am
only kidding, but there really is
something I'd like to tell to
your teenage readers. You see I
understand kids, because besides
my two daughters, I have a 13-
year-old son whose nickname is
"Tooki" and he is right now at-
tending St. Johns Military Acad-
emy.
"The most important thing in
the lives of, you young people
should be your school. You must
get all the education you can
possibly get if you wish to be
any kind of a success in later
years. Mark my words, there's
nothing so precious as an edu-
cation."

that can cause an outfielder to lose a high fly.

In planning the Stadium's new lighting, engineers
worked a double play to insure dependable
illumination. In addition to the underground
cables carrying electricity to the eight light
towers, a standby system of
overhead wiring has also been installed.
