In a call issued by the De-
troit American Birobidjan Com-
mittee (Ambijan), all Jewish or-
ganizations are asked to send
delegates to a conference at 10
a.m. Sunday, at the Lee Plaza
Hotel.
The significance of the estab-
lishment of the Jewish State will
be outlined by Isadore Starr,
president of the Detroit division
of the committee.
Rabbi Mayer I. Herman, of
the Brithlorn Congregation,
secretary of the Bronx, N. Y.
Council of Rabbis, will be guest
speaker.
The conference will make
plans for Detroiters' aid in set-
tling thousands of Jewish ref-
uge war orphans in Birobidjan.

for the annual meeting and
election of the Women's Aux-
iliary, United Hebrew Schools,
Wednesday at the Rose Sittig
Cohen Bldg., Mrs. Louis Gel-
fand, president, announced. A
dessert luncheon will be served
at 12:30 p.m.
Mrs. Harry Oberstein will re-
view current books and Mrs.
Albert Carnick will discuss
magazine articles of interest.
Also on the program will be
Mrs. Abe Katzman, who will
talk on Jewish radio programs,
and Mrs. Paul Carpenter, who
will present Hebrew and Yid-
dish recordings.

On Decoration Day, May 30, the Hebrew Benevolent Society
will dedicate its monument to Jewish martyrs who died in
Europe and Palestine and to the dead resting in the Chesed
Shel Emes Cemetery. The certnony will start at 1 p.m. at
the cemetery, 14 Mile road and Gratiot avenue. Members of
all Synagogus and organiaztions are invited, and Rabbis are
requested to announce the event from their pulpits.
