Mrs. Wayburn to Take Over
Beth El Women Presidency

The Annual Spring Luncheon
of the Sisterhood of Temple Beth
El will be held at 12:30 p.m.,
Monday in the social hall. Mrs.
M. George Wayburn will take'
over as president.
The program will consist of an
original skit, "Ceremony of Con-
tinuity," written by Mrs. Leon-
ard Weiner, and the installation
of officers. The luncheon is un-
der supervision of Mrs. Alvin
Rodecker.
New officers include Mrs. Her-
man Meyer, Mrs. Arthur Rice
and Mrs. Robert Janeway, vice-
presidents; Mrs. Leonard Weiner,
Miss Dorothy Bloom, Mrs. Saul
Lewis and Mrs. 'Bertram Kaatz,
secretaries; and Mrs. Harold
Shapero, treasurer.
New directors are Mesdames
Eugene Arnfeld, David Cooper,
William Gershenson, Fred Gross,
Harry Jacobson, Martin Krauss,
Walter Schmier and Bernard

Campaign Hails
Mrs. Ben. Coggan

A consistently conscientious
and energetic worker, Mrs. Ben-
jamin Coggan is directing her ef-
forts toward the success of the
Allied Jewish Campaign.
In this year's drive, Mrs. Cog-
gan, for the second consecutive
time, is doing an outstanding job
handling the most widely scat-
tered area in the Womyn's Di-
vision. As Chairman of Area 12,
she supervises the prospect slips
of women who live in the "four
corners" of Detroit.
In spite of the problems in-
volved with such an undertaking,
Mrs. Coggan has succeeded al-
ready in raising more than 130
percent of her division's quota.
Not limiting her activities to
the campaign, Mrs. Coggan is ac-
tive in Hadassah and the Detroit
Council of Jewish Women, and is
of Congregation
a member

Mr. amid Mrs. Julius Helinstein of Dexter boulevard announce
the engagement of their daughter Muriel to David Jacknow,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Jacknow. Mr. Jacknow is a grad-
uate of Wayne University and will attend medical school there
in the fall. A June wedding is planned.
Announcement is made of the betrothal of Clarice Feinberg,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David C. Feinberg of Monterey ave-
nue, to Gerald Hyman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Hyman of
LaSalle boulevard. The wedding will take place in the fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smith of Fairfield avenue announce the
engagement of their daughter Bernice Madeline to Alan C.
Reinheimer, son of Mrs. Herbert Reinheimer of Parkside avenue,
and the late Mr. Reinheimer.
The betrothal of Lillian Niss to Louis Gardner, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Gardner of Windsor, is announced by her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Niss of Tuxedo avenue. The couple
will be married in the fall.
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. (Klugman) Kay of Elmhurst avenue
announce the engagement of their daughter Norma to Otto
Hess, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. Hess of Littlefield avenue. A fall
wedding is planned.
At the first Seder services, Mrs. Fannie Leventen of Tuxedo
avenue announced the engagement of her daughter Pearl to
Sidney T. Eder, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Eder. Miss
Leventen attended Wayne University and received her degree
from the University of Michigan's graduate school of social
work. She is affiliated with Sigma Theta Delta. Her fiance
attended Wayne and is a graduate of Drake University, Des
Moines, Ia. He is affiliated with Alpha Epsilon Pi. The couple
is planning a fall wedding.
William Kalb of Fullerton avenue announces the betrothal
of his daughter Rosalie to William Weiner. The wedding will
take place June 26 at the Wilshire Hotel.

bers of the Shaarey Zedek
Sisterhood will honor their
mothers at a meeting at 12:30
p.m., Monday in the Synagogue.
Rabbi A. M. Hershman will
deliver the invocation and Can-
tor Jacob H. Sonenklar will
give the benedidion. Mesdames
Morris Ruskin, Samuel Heller
and Ben Lefkowitz are social
chairman and Mrs. Louis Tat-
ken, program chairman.
Following a report by Mrs.
Abe Katzman, president, new
officers will be elected. They
will be installed immediately
afterward.
Members are requested by
Mrs. William Nadler and Mrs.
Morris Halperin, SOS chair-
men, to bring food and clothing
for overseas survivors.

Group to End Season
at Meeting on June 1

As the windup meeting for
their division, the Juniors will
hold a report party at 8 p.m.
Sunday at the Center from 8 to
11 o'clock. Entertainers will be
the Soft Winds, recording and
composing trio, currently appear-
ing at the London House. Ron
Fenton and his orchestra will
furnish music for dancing.
Final reports will be made by
all workers in the Junior Divi-
sion at this time.
Division workers have reported
a total of $63,000 raised to date
following the tabulation of fig-
ures from the fifth successive re-
port meeting held May 3. This
represents more than 84 percent
of the Juniors' quota of $75,000.
An increase of more than 165
percent over the sum raised last
year has been maintained by the
Juniors throughout their cam-
paign.
