The Voice of the
Man in the Street

Photos by JACK BIGELMAN

TIME: Thursday evening.
PLACE: Northwest Hebrew
Congregation.
QUESTION: Do you advocate a
return to the use of Biblical
names for Jewish children?

DOROTHY FLORENCE, 5216
Martindale avenue south,
boolilieeper.
I don't believe a child should
be given a name, either Biblical
or modern, that will prove a
burden to him
in future life.
Usually a
Jewish child is
given two
names, o n e
English a n d
the other lie-
brew, so it
really is not
necessary that
his English
name be Bibli-
cal.
Just like religion, names must
be modernized to fit the times.
