Last of Freedom Luncheons
to Hear Mrs. Judith Epstein

With the successful $365 mini-
mum and $100 minimum Free-
dom Luncheons behind them, the
workers in the Women's Divi-
sion of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign are looking forward to a

J. Frank, chairman of general
solicitation. Mrs. Nathan B.
Schermer, chairman of assign-
ments in general solicitation,
will give the invocation.
Awards will be presented to
the outstanding solicitors in this
year's drive.
At the $365 and $100 lunch-
eons, Mrs. John C. Hopp, chair-
man of special gifts, presided
while Mrs. Max Frank, president
of the Women's Division, deliver-
ed the invocation. Harold Katz,
former member of Haganah was
introduced by Mrs. Abraham
Cooper.
Arrangements for the lunch-
eons are under the supervision of
Mrs. Harry Jacobson and her
committee, Mesdames Irving L.
Hirschinann, Theodore Levin and
Alfred Loewenstein.

the betrothal of their daughter Toby to Seymour II. Bistruw, sun
of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bistrow of Elmhurst avenue. Both attend
Wayne University. Miss Gertzman is a member of Sigma Theta
Delta and Mr. Bistrow is affiliated with Mu Beta Chi.
Announcement is made of the engagement of Louise Leavitt,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Leavitt of Great Neck, L. L,
to James R. Zuckerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zuckerman
of the Hotel Book Cadillac. The bride-elect is a junior at the Uni-
versity of Michigan. Her fiance was graduated last year from
Michigan and is now enrolled in the law school there. Ile is a
member of Zeta Beta Tau and a former lieutenant in the army.
The wedding will take place in the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wald of Pittsburgh announce the engage-
ment of their daughter Lillian Ruth to Howard Malcolm Kahn,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kahn of Grand boulevard west. Miss
Wald was graduated fronT the University of Pittsburgh. Her
fiance is a graduate of the Wayne University law school and is a
member of Tau Epsilon Rho legal fraternity. A summer wedding
is planned.
The engagement is announced of Norma Roslyn Ginsburg,
daughter of the late Simon Ginsburg and Mrs. Henriette Gins-
burg of Los Angeles and formerly of Warrington drive, Detroit,
to Eugene D. Rosen, sun of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rosen of Los
Angeles. The bride-elect attended the University of Michigan and
was graduated from Wayne University. A former captain in the
army air force, Mr. Rosen will receive his degree in May from the
University of Oklahoma's college of engineering, where he is
affiliated with Pi Lamda Phi. The wedding will take place June
27 at Beverly Hills, Calif., and the couple will reside in Wash-
ington, D. C.

nounce the betrothal of their daughter Joyce to Leon Shapiro of
Rochester, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Levine of Tyler avenue announce the
engagement of their sister Bernice Hacker to Julius Rachmiel, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Rachmiel of Webb avenue. Plans are being
made for a late fall wedding.
