Life or Death

A Rabbi with none of the trappings of
the spellbinder, an undramatic, plain man,
came to Detroit to tell community leaders
the unalloyed truth about the Jewish DP.
Ills story was so simple, so holiest that
the audience responded with a record bre:0r-
ing gift in advance Of the Opening of the
1948 Allied Jewish Campaign of $1,500,000.

stein of Rochester, N.Y., who knows more
about the DP situation then anybody' else,
since he was for so many months adviser
to the American command in Germany on
Jewish affairs.

story without any oratory or melodrama—

ingly sacrifice their home life and their
businesses—even as our brothers and sis-
ters in the Homeland sacrifice their lives
and their blood.

In this Year of Destiny, Detroit must
go over the top—or that blood will cry out
to us from the ground and stain us forever.
This year for our own sakes, we dare
not fail our leadership
