The Voice of the 9 Are Nominated Man in the Street for. JWF Board Photos by JACK BIGELMAN TIME: Sunday morning. PLACE: Twelfth and Philadel- phia. QUESTION: Will President Tru- man's failure to back up U. S. pledges on partition influence your vote in the next election? MAYER OSTROW, 11817 Ilamil- ton avenue, merchant. Yes. it will. As a good Ameri- can, I like to see my government carry out its commitments. As a good Jew, I would like to see the Pales- tine problem h o n orably solved. Since Tru- man is presi- dent of the most powerful country in the world it is up to him and his administration to see that parti- tion is carried out through the UN. I am a Democrat and was one of Roosevelt's most loyal follow- ers. I think the Democratic par; ty would do well by not nomi- nating Truman and by selecting a man who will keep his prom- ise. • Page Fly* DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE Friday, March 12, 1948 11 1 PWO Unit Slates Membership Tea Protegees of NCJW Meyerson Group's Affair on Tuesday Annual Meeting Scheduled April 11 Nine members-at-large of the Jewish Welfare Federation board of governors will be elected at the Federation annual meeting, Sunday evening, April 11, in the Grand Ballroom of the Book Cad- illac Hotel.
