to End Campaign
Culminating the membership
drive of the Louis D. Brandeis
Chapter, an open meeting will
be held at 8:30 p.m., Monday, in
the Rose Sittig Cohen Bldg.,
with Mrs. Albert Silber as speak-

She will review "Behind the
Silken Curtain" by Bartley C.
Crum. Also on the program will
be a variety show to be pre-
sented by the BBYO.

Fight on Delinquency
WASHINGTON—Bnai Brith is
the first national service organi-
zation to publicly support the
President's proclamation setting
aside April for the prevention
and control of juvenile delin-
quency.
Bnai Brith Americanism lead-
ers in more than 1,400 commu-
nities are contacting public of-
ficials and leaders of civic and
welfare organizations in an ef-
fort to get the programs under-
way.

Michigan Congressmen Tell
Detroiters They Back State
Most of the Michigan con-
gressional delegation pledged
that they would write to Presi-
dent Truman urging implement-
ation of the Jewish State plan at
a conference with Detroit Zion-
ist representatives.
A luncheon was called at the
behest of Rep. Howard A. Cof-
fin of Detroit. Other legislators
who attended were Reps. Sa-
dowski, Shafer, Jonkman, Craw-
ford, Woodruff, Bennett, Young-
blood, Dingell and Dondero.
Sadowski, Youngblood and Ding-
ell are also from Detroit.
The Zionist delegation was
made up of Rabbi Leon Fram,
Leon Kay and Sidney Shevitz.
After the meeting with the
congressmen, t h e delegation
conferred with Senator Fer-
guson. They were joined by
Mrs. Julian Tobias, representing
Hadassah.
Senator Ferguson had also
been present at the meeting with
the congressmen. lie promised
the delegation that he would
do everything possible to urge
the implementation of the UN
decision.
Senator Vandenberg told the
delegation that all decisions
with regard to Palestine were
now in the hands of the Unitel
Nations, and that the United
States has been acting and wiN

Eretz Israel at a meeting of De-

Pisgah Lodge's membership
drive will continue throughout
'March, Isadore Starr, chairman,
announced.
The deadline has been extend-
ed, Ilerbert Eskin, president,
said, because it was impossible
for officers and committee mem-
bers to contact all men eligible
for membership. He urged oth-
er members to assist in the cam-
paign.
Dr. Franz J. Polgar, of New
York, a hypnotist, will present
"Miracles of the Mind" at an
open meeting of Pisgah's bowl-
ing league, March 15.
This will be a return engage-
ment for Dr. Polgar, who was
strongly acclaimed during his
previous visit.
