In Spotlight
Mr. and Mrs. George Allen of Cambridge road north announce
the betrothal of their daughter Audrey to Charles Weiner, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Weiner df Dexter boulevard. The bride-
elect attended the University of Michigan and is now a senior
at Wayne University. Her fiance received his B. S. degree from
Wayne and is working on his master's degree in music there.
Plans are being made for a September wedding.
Mrs. Zelda Levin of Pingree avenue announces the engage-
ment of her daughter Mildred to Hyman Berman, son of Mrs.
Sarah Berman of Calvert avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mitnick of Leslie avenue announce the
engagement of their daughter Dolores Estelle to Dave Server,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Server of Monterey avenue. The
wedding date has been set for Sept. 2G.
Mr. and Mrs. Solomon B. Cohen announce the engagement
of their sister Mollie, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Abraham
Cohen, to Maurice White, son of Mrs. Gertrude White of Toronto.
The betrothal of Ann Sadovitz to Irving Alpert is announced
by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sadovitz of Gladstone avenue.
Mr. Alpert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Alpert of Taylor
avenue. Ile attends Wayne University.

will play for the second annual
Temple Israel dinner-dance at
7 p.m., Saturday, in the Hotel
Statler.

A banquet is planned by the

JSG to Hear Review

A contribution of $4,350 has
been made by the Women's Aux-
iliary, Jewish Home for Aged, to-
ward building a corridor between
the Home and the annex, Mrs.
Samuel Weller, president, an-
nounced.
The donation represents savings
accumulated under past presidents
Mesdames A. M. Ferar, I. E.
Goodman, David Kliger, M. J.
Greenberg, Nat Lippilt and
George Koven.
On Monday, the annual mem-
ber-bring-a-member party will be
held, with Mrs. Ben Arkin as
chairman.
Members will be admitted by
bringing a prospective member.
Movies will be shown under the
supervision of Mrs. Jack Fisher,
and Mrs. Herman Bregman, pian-
ist, will play.
Completing its series of book
reviews, the Junior Service
Group will present Mrs. Morris
Adler at 8:30 p.m., Monday in
Shaarey Zedek. She will review
"Basic Judaism" by Milton Stein-
berg.
Admission will be to members
of the JSG only. Memberships
may be obtained at the door.

Congress Women
to Present Drama
The UN decision on Palestine
is the first opportunity the
Jews have had to find a perma-
nent solution to the DP prob-
lem, Stefan Ileym, author of
"Hostages", told more than 609
women at a meeting of the
League of Jewish Women's Or-
ganizations Monday.
"What the Jews of America
do in support of that decision,
by supporting the United Jew-
ish Appeal, may determine the
course of future Jewish history",
Helm declared.
Signing a resolution presented
by Mrs. Samuel Danto, League
president, 38 ' women's organi-
zations pledged full participation
in the 1948 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign of which the UJA is a
part.
Play on Wednesday
to Deal With Bigotry
A meeting of all chapters of
the Detroit Women's Division,
American Jewish Congress, will
be held in the form of a "Kaffee
Klatch" at 1 p.m., Wednesday, in
the Rose Sittig Cohen Bldg.
Sponsored by the human rela-
tions committee under the su-
pervision of Mrs. Louis Tatken,
divisional vice-president, the ses-
sion will be highlighted by a
socio-drama dealing with the al-
leviation of discrimination.
Working with Mrs. Tatken are
the following vice-presidents of
the committee: Mesdantes Em-
manuel Einstein, Central; G. Lio-
nel Willens, Northwest; William
Cohen, South; and Alfred Bleier,
Northeast.
Participants in the production
are Mesdames Allen Weston, Sol
Dann, Janice Mendelsohn, Albert
Kaplan, Herman Kazdan, Edw.

Oscar Cohen to Speak
at Turover Meeting
Oscar Cohen, executive direc-
tor of the Jewish Community
Council, will be guest speaker at
the Turover Aid Society's meet-
ing Monday, Isidor Sosnick, pres-
ident, announced.
Cohen will discuss the prob-
lems of displaced persons. A.
movie, "Passport to Nowhere,"
will be shown.
BRESTOFF TO PLAY
Phil Brestoff and his orches-
tra will play at the 44th holiday
hop, a March of Dimes dance,
at 9 p.m., Sunday, in the Jew-
ish Center.
