for Palestine,
Says Tr u man

WASHINGTON (WNS) —
American troops will not be
sent to Palestine to maintain
order there, President Truman
declared at a news conference.
The President also said that,
in the long run, an international
police force of the United Na-
tions would be se` up.
Asked whether he meant that
the international police force
would actually be placed in
Palestine, the President replied
that such a force could be sent
wherever the United Nations
would have to enforce Its man-
date.
