New Telcove Club Officers

Yeshiva University Expands

To allow for the admission of additional students, the Federal and New York State gov-
ernments have joined hands to enable Yeshiva University, the only university under Jewish
auspices, to erect temporary emergency facilities. These buildings, left, are being bililt ad-
jacent to the school's main building, right. This will give the university an additional area
of 25,000 square feet and provide added facilities for 45 classrooms, laboratories and offices.

To Lead UJA Women

Shown are new officers of the Los Angeles Telcove Club.
Left to right, Pepi Fine, treasurer; harry Bellin, vice-presi-
dent; and Valeria Berger, president. The group will hold a
"Victory Dance" Jan. 25 at the Jewish Center to lelebrate the
UN decision. At a dinner Sunday honoring the memory of
Sylvia Telcove, Mrs. Fine presented a reading of a poem she
had written in eulogy of Mrs. Telcove. Following are excerpts:

There are still many Jews in Italian displaced persons camps
awaiting the opportunity to restore themselves to normal lives
as productive citizens. With courage born of years of resist-
ance to oppression, they try as best they can to keep life
pleasant, productive and harmonious until such time as They
can go to Palestine. Top photo shows a group enjoying a
musical evening in a camp at Milan. Bottom is a Jewish
soccer team at another camp.

More than. 2,000 pounds of vitally-needed food was collected
at a shower given by Mrs. Lee Gladstone, ehairm.in of the
Suwalker Organization's relief committee, in her home on
Buena Vista avenue welt. In addition to members, virtually
all neighbors in the block contributed to aid DP's. The food
has been packed and shipped by the group to camps in Austria,
Germany, France, Italy, Belgium and Bulgaria. Left to right,
Mrs. Gladstone; Mrs. Sam Bassin, hospitality , chairman; Mrs.
Alex Gootlieb, secretary. The boy is Jerome Gottlieb.
