Friday, JapparT 8, 18411 DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE Our Athletes Browns Pat In Early Bid for Dan Dworsky By FRANK BECKMAN HE still has an- '" other year left at Michigan, Danny Dworsky, the big center, has already been drafted by the professional Cleveland Browns. This in itself attests to Dworsky's abil- ity. The Browns 'think so highly of him that they have put in their bid for his services one year in advance. Beckman Danny h a s not commented on his future plans. He is almost a sure bet to be named All-American in 1948. (The Football Coaches As- sociation picked him for the All- American third team in the sea- son just concluded.) So honored, he will be able to capitalize on his fame in what- ever vocation he chooses. The Sioux Falls, S. D., lad is a B-plus average student and a piano virtuoso of no little abil- ity. He shows talent as an art- ist and rates highly among stu- dents enrolled in the school of architecture. One thing seems certain; the Browns will have to make a very enticing offer to lure 20- year-old Dworsky into their fold. • 1948 Olympic speed skating team, succeeding Herbert Schwartz of St. Paul, Minn.
