Fishman Named
by Yiddish Groups

Morris Fishman, former execu-
tive director of the American
Vederation for Polish Jews, Chi-
cago district, has been appointed
• to the same position with the
United Yiddish Folk Organiza-
tions of Detroit, of which he is
a founder.
The announcement was made
by Charles Driker, local presi-
dent, who also said that the
Detroit committee has opened
new offices at 9107 12th street.
At a special meeting, Fish-
man outlined a program to
strengthen the landsmanshaften
movement and the moral influ-
ence of Jewish social life in De-
troit.
"The office of the city commit-
tee is ready to aid every Jew-
ish organization in its work,
whether the help required be
social, cultural or technical," Dri-
ker said.
The latter service includes as-
sistance in preparing letters,
press releases and sending par-
cels to Europe.
