S. Niger's talk on "50 Years
of Jewish Literature" will mark
the opening here of the celebra-
tion of Jewish Book Month.
Niger has achieved interna-
tional reputation as an authority
on both Hebrew and Yiddish
literature, His- ? speech Sunday
at the Jewish Community Cen-
ter will be followed by two
seminar sessions, to take place
Nov. 20 and 27.

gate, Mrs. Louis Kaufman of
Cleveland, will come here to be
guest speaker at the annual
paid-up membership luncheon of
the women's auxiliary, Jewish
National Fund, at 12:30 p.m.,
Tuesday, in the Jewish Com-
munity Center.
Mrs. Kaufman is national vice-
president of the Pioneer Wo-
men's Organization, a leader in
the women's division of the
Cleveland United Jewish Appeal,
and past president of Cleve-
Ilind's women's auxiliary of JNF
Headlining a musical program
will be Moe Kesner, musical
instructor at the United Hebrew
Schools and music director of

sent Yiddish and Hebrew songs,

Although he had already made
a pledge to the 1947 Allied Jew-
ish Campaign, Myer J. Kellman
has made an additional contri-
bution of $50 as a tribute to the
courteous and friendly assistance
he received in the office of the
Resettlement Service, Jewish
Welfare Federation agency for
local aid to refugees.
Writing to a member of the re-
settlement staff, Kellman said,
"This is the first time in my
life I ever entered the office of
a Jewish charitable institution,
and I never realized what won-
derful work they are doing. I
believe if many people would
find out the truth, they would
give a lot more."
