JDA Convention

NEW YORK—Representatives
of Detroit Jewry and nearby
areas are expected to take a
vigorous role of leadership at
the second annual national con-
ference of the Joint Defense Ap-
peal to be held Jan. 3, 4 and
5 in Philadelphia.
Among those from Detroit
planning to attend, all of whom
are members of the JDA na-
tional council or national execu-
tive committee, are Aaron
Droock, Rabbi B. Benedict Gla-
zer, Isadore Levin and Joseph
M. Welt. Leonard T. Lewis of
Pontiac will also be a delegate.
The JDA is the fund-raising
arm of the American Jewish
Committee and the Anti-Defa-
mation League of Bnai Brith.
This year the JDA is driving to-
ward a national goal of $6,000,-
000.
