Students from 18 foreign lands are included among the 1,100 enrolled at Yeshiva University,
the only university in the Americas under Jewish auspices. They come from the following
countries: Palestine, Hungary, Canada, Russia, Ecuador, Austria, Poland, China, Belgium,
England, Germany, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Czechoslovakia, Venezuela and Romania.

Recital of Murder

Teacher Martha Schuhmann (pointing) describes a set of cari-
catures by II•Sris Efimov, titled "Ilitler and His Hordes", to a
group of elementary school students visiting the Soviet "House
of Culture" in Berlin. Main feature of this education in
Germany is hatred of II itler.

Wallace Visits Hebrew University

vidson, Samuel *Gerson, Mor-

William Sharpe, James Wine-
man and Irving W. Blumberg,
ex officio president of the
group. Max Osnos is division
chairman.

August Hoehm, assistant commander of the notorious Sachsen-

hausen concentration camp, stands to testify at the first mass

trial of German war criminals before a military tribunal in

the Russian sector of Berlin. Hoehn' calmly told the court

that he, personally, killed 300 camp inmates, 27 of them in a

single day. Seated to left of Hoehm is SS Standartenfuehrcr

Anton Kaindl (wearing glasses), former commandant of the
Sachsenhausen camp. The officer standing at left, pad in hand,
is an interpreter.

Irish, Palestinian Soil Mixed

During his trip to Palestine in October, Henry Wallace, former
Vice-President, visited the Hebrew University on Mount
Scopus. He is shown on the campus with a group of the ap-
proximately 150 American students enrolled there. Friends
of the University—Hadassah Medical School will hold a ban-
quet in Detroit Nov. 24 at Shaarey Zedek to honor Mrs. Dora
Ehrlich, its local chairman.

This exhibit of Jewish religious objects, stolen by the Nazis from Synagogues and later rescued
by the Nurenberg Jewish community, is on a nationwide tour of Jewish centers and YM-YWHAs
under the auspices of the National Jewish Welfare Board. Upper left shows items relating to
major festivals. Upper right is a collection of articles used in the Synagogue. Lower panel
shows pieces relating to the Torah.
