6 Hadassah Chapters
to Assemble on Oct. 14

Skits, Reviews to Entertain Groups,
Honor Roll Reports Will Be Heard

Timely skits, Honor Roll reports and dessert luncheons
will play major roles when the six main groups of the De-
troit Chapter of Hadassah meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Mrs. Jacob Sauls, executive chairman, announces that
Central East Group will meet at the home of Mrs. Fred A.
Ginsburg, 664 Chicago boulevard.

Honor Roll reports will be
read by Mesdames Perry Burn-
stein, Harry Goldberg, Bud
Blum and 'Frank Wetsman. Mrs.
David Feinberg is in charge of
hospitality.

REVIEW 3 BOOKS
A novel program has been
arranged by Mrs. Harry Ober-
stein. Three books on Zionism
will be briefed. Mrs. Ben Glass-
berg will review "Uprooted",
Mrs. Lippman Gerber will offer
the high spots of Lowdermilk's
"Palestine", and MI's. Max J.
Wohlgelernter will give the
theme of "Behind the Silken
Curtain".
Mrs. Dora Ehrlich will show
how the books apply to Hadas-
sah projects.
'Mrs. Julian Tobias, executive
chairman, will preside at the
meeting of Central West Group
in the Shaarey Zedek social
hall.

SKIT ON PROGRAM
Mrs. Arthur Gould and Mrs.
Adolph Lowe will report on
Honor Roll. Hospitality will be
directed by Mesdames Hy Fried-
man, Joseph Miller and Albert
Green. Mrs. Samuel Grandon
is in charge of program, and
will present a skit, "Cue for
Action", casting Mesdames Sid-
ney Winer, Abe Kutlov and
Al J. Silber as Hadassah prob-
lems.
Mrs. Claire Axelrod, executive
chairman,, announces that the
Russell Woo
ds Group will meet
at the Jewish Home for Aged
auditorium, Petoskey and Bur-
lingame avenues.
Mesdames Sam Shekter, Ben-
jamin Bond and J. J. Marks,
will report progress on Honor
Roll. Mrs. Irving Swaab will
arrange hospitality. Mrs. Harry
Landsman has dramatized the
work of Youth Aliyah in an
original skit entitled "Dress Re-
hearsal, or Behind the Scenes
of a Slip".

MRS. HACK TO PLAY
The musical accompaniment
will be played by Mrs. Leonard
Hack. The cast includes Mes-
dames , Simon Weisman, Sam
Lipshy, Jack Berger, Sam Zelde,
Herman Cohen and Irving
Swaab.
Mrs. N. N. Steinberg, execu-
tive chairman of the Southern
Oakland County Group, an-
nounces an evening meeting to
be held at the home of Mrs.
Theodore Bargman, 2013 North-
wood avenue, Royal Oak, at 8:30
p.m. Mrs. Stanley Akers will
read the Honor Roll report. The
program will feature Mrs. Harry

an original - skit "Live and
Learn" to emphasize Hadassah
education month. The casts con-
sists of Mesdames Louis Kazdan,
Oscar Grey and Marvin Wets-

Mrs. Samuel Rubiner, execu-
tive chairman of University
West, will preside at a meeting
to be held in 'the home of Mrs.
Henry E. Wagner, 1700 Welles-
ley drive.

Honor Roll reports will
read by Mrs. Alfred Meyers,
Mrs. Harry Barnett and Mrs.
Max Kerner. Vice-chairman,
Mrs. Joseph Jackier; education
co-chairmen, Mrs. Benjamin

of Temple Sisterhoods, will be
the main speaker at the state
convention of sisterhoods Oct.
8 and 9 in Jacksortak,,
Sessions will be' held at the
Hotel Hayes. Mrs. Harvet Stead ,
man of Lansing will preside.
Detroiters who will figure
prominently in the proceedings
are Mrs. Lawrence Freedman, a
national director; Mrs. Samuel
Danto, state vice-president; Mrs
Max Loewenstein, recording sec-
retary; and Mrs. Harry Krohn,
chairman of the nominating
committee.
There are 14 sisterhoods in
tlig state, ranging in member-
ship from eight to 1,200 mem-

chairman of the 1947 Balfour
Ball, Morris M. Jacobs Zionist
president, has announced.
This will be the 15th consecu-
tive year in which the ball has
been held. The proceeds help
