looks slowly about him. No one.
But beneath him the ocean

ome. The traveler unstraps the
orn pack from his shoulders,
a kes out a dusty kerchief, shakes
it and spreads it out on the curb.
Then with a deep sigh he sits
down and again inspects his sur-
pundings. No sound.
The sun is going down and the
evening wind begins to blow. The
Stranger pokes a bony hand into
his bag, pulls out a tattered jack-
et and drapes it over his shoul-
ders. "Fall winds," he mutters
and buries himself in mental
solitude.

TEL AVIV (ZOA)—The latest
improvement in local printing is
the installation of Hebrew mono-
type machines by Haaretz He-
brew daily, in this city. Hitherto
only the lineotype has been in
use, which casts a line of type
intact.
The mono casts single letters
and, for Hebrew, will cast the
vowels or 'nekudot" separately.
This will facilitate correction of
errors and also meet the need
for more Hebrew type, since the
mono will cast letters that can
be used also for hand-setting.
Jewish compositors are now
studying the use of the new ma-
chines from translated textbooks.
