to Sift Constitution

The Detroit women's division
of the American Jewish Congress
will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednes-
day in Butzel Hall of the Jewish
Community Center to ratify the
proposed 'constitution which out-
lines' the framework Of the local

division.

Isaac Tpubin, assistant execu-
tive director of AJC, will address
the meeting on "Congress, a
Challedge to American Jewry."
The parley is being held under
the direction of Mrs. Benjamin
Kohen, vice-president in charge
of the commiskon on law and
social action. Mrs. Samuel Green
is president of the women's di-
vision.
The opening session of the wo-
men's division will be held as a
luncheon Sept. 17 at the Book
Cadillac Hotel.

At an afternoon ceremony
Aug. 24, Betty Hoberman, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hober-
man of Prairie avenue, became
the bride of Earl Shipper, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shipper
of Sturtevant avenue.
Attending her sister-in-law as
matron of honor was Mrs. Sol
Hoberman, and Geraldine Ship-
per, the groom's sister, was maid
of honor. Norton Shipper was
his brother's best man, with Sol
Hoberman as usher.
After the wedding reeepti6n,
the newlyweds left for a honey-
moon in Canada and New York.
