MORE THAN 1,100 disabled vet-
erans are learning to be Rabbis,
priests, and ministers under the
Vocational Rehabilitation Act.
The figure was arrived at in a
79 percent sampling of the rec-
ords of some 229,000 handi-
capped veterans in schools and
on-the-job training courses.
Nearly all of the 1,141 pro-
spective clergymen are attending
theological schools at the college
level. Seven are taking training
in educational institutions below
the college level.
Veterans with service-con
nected disabilities are eligible
for education and training if
they require such training to re-
store their employability.
