lr'M NOT PREPARED to swear
to the truth of this story, but
a friend, a master of ceremonies
at a summer camp, vows that it
really happened.
He was, he says, waiting at the
railway Station for some camp
guests to arrive when a local
habitant sidled up to the ticket-
office. "Mister, I'm going to Hol-
lywood to play fiddle in a movie,,
Fix me up to get there."
"Certainly," was the rep
"The train goes by in 10 min-
utes. Where's your trunk?"
"Trunk?" asked the native.
"What's that for?"
"To put your clothes in," said
the station agent.
"What?" cried the other, "and
me go to Hollywood naked!"

THE FATHER, came home
tired from the office. He was
irritable and exasperated and at
short' temper with his rampa-
geous children. When he could
stand it no longer he spanked
them and sent them to bed with-
out supper.
When he came to breakfast in
the morning he found this note
on an otherwise empty toast
plate:
"Be good to your children and
they will be good to you. Yours
truly, God."

the inspector decided to have

a gang of criminals with a ma-
chine gun in a car doing 40 miles
on a lonely road," he said,

eye and replied promptly, "Sixty-
