committee.
As general secretary, the no-
educator will relieve Presi-
t Everett R. Clinchy of cer-
Iin administrative duties to
enable the National Conference
president to devote his entire
time to consolidating the na-
tional and international phases
of the work of the National Con-
ference of Christians and Jews.
Due to the rapid growth of the
Conference the executive com-
mittee took this step in the in-
terest of efficiency after the ad-
ministrative task had become too
heavy for one man to handle.
The appointment of Dr. Mac-
Cracken is, Dr. Clinchy said.
"part of the current growth of

the National Conference
Christians and Jews involving
several other changes and ap-
pointments." Among these is
the naming of Willard Johnson
of New York City as national
program director.

VERY YOUNG CHILDREN
show what appears to adults
to be excessive self-play. These
children have often been found
to be insecure children. The
outside world has not given them
the usual, normal satisfactions
found in homes with both father
and mother, or in homes with
loving parents.
In this home, it may well be
that the child n9sses the secur-
ity of both parents. While there
is no doubt that grandma loves
the baby, this is not synonymous
with parental love. Nor is a
grandmother likely to show the
patience exhibited by parents.
It is probable that the child's
action reflects his feelings of
basic insecurity. If you, as a
grandmother, show any disap-
proval of the childish action by
slapping her hands, pulling them
away from her body by telling
her it is naughty, or generally
show your disapproval by your
looks, you merely confirm the
child's actions.

in some cases, would open up
wounds that have not fully
healed. He therefore cautioned
that the next of kind should be
sure that they want the dead
returned before requesting the
action.
