LOWELL, Mass.—Paul V. Mc-

to the Philippine Republic, and

Judge Lewis E. Levinthal, of

Philadelphia, special adviser on

Jewish Affairs to Lt. ' Gen. Lu-

cius D. Clay in Europe, called

for an end to racial discrimina-

tion at home and an early solu-
tion to the displaced persons
crisis abroad at a testimonial
dinner in honor of Frank Gold-
man, newly elected president of
Bnai Brith.
Terming racial prejudice and
discrimination "the one worm
in the shining apple of our in-
ternational prestige," McNutt
said that even the friendliest
foreign governments look with
askance at "our local color bar-
riers and restricted areas."
"The hundreds of millions of
non-Caucasian peoples who in-
habit the Orient are especially
interested in that subject," Mc-
Nutt said.
Ile warned the American peo-
ple against those "who feed on
hate, who breathe prejudice,
who thrive on ignorance."
"Those people are enemies of
America—traitors to America,"
he said.
