First Classes of UHS Join in Reunion

Scheduled Sunday •

The aonual Consecration service
of Temple Beth El will be held at
8:15 p.m. Friday, May 23. Dr. and
Mrs. B. Benedict Glazer will be
hosts to parents all children of
the Confirmation class at a recep-
tion in the social hall following
the service.
The Confirmation service will be
held on the morning of Shavuos
at 9:30 Sunday. A class of 46 will
be confirmed by Dr. Glazer.
The 97th annual dinner meeting
of Beth El will take place at 6:30
p.m. Monday in the social hall.
A dinner will be served by the sis-
terhood and a musical program
will be presented by Margit Kor-
mendy, contralto, and Kurt Saffir,
pianist. Reports will be given by
Leonard T. Lewis, president of the
Congregation, and Dr. Glazer and
election of officers and trustees will
take place.
The annual Memorial service at
Beth El Memorial Park will be
held Decoration Day, at 3 p.m.,
Friday, May 30. Participating in
the service will he Dr. Grazer,
Rabbi Leon Frani of Temple Israel
and the choir of Beth El.

vath Beth Ychudah. at 8:15 p. m.

The assembly will mark the
completion of 30 years of service
of the Yeshivah to the Detroit
community. Rabbi Max J. Wohl-
gelernter will preside. Eighteen
ne.., members of the hoard of di-
rectors will be elected.
Rabbi Ochs is a distinguished
scholar and orator. lie was a
member of the Rabbinate in Vi-
enna, but with the advent of
Hitler escaped to England where
he took over a pulpit in Man-
chester.
As part of his duties in Canada
he heads the Talmud Torah Eitz
Chaim and Yeshivah /Writ in To-
ronto.

Shavuos Services Set
at Northwest Hebrew

Shavuos services at the North-
west Hebrew Congregation will be
held at 9 a.m. Sunday and Mon-
day. Evening services Saturday
and Sunday will begin at 7:30.
Rabbi Jacob Segal will speak on
"Goals Need Roads" Sunday mor-
ning and "Is the Torah Your
Possession?" Monday morning.
Monday's services will also in-
clude Yizkor which will be recited
at 10:30.
