Singled out for special honors at
the Allied Jewish Campaign re-
port luncheon today are Irving W.
Blumberg, president of the De-
troit Service Group and vice-
chairman of the trades and pro-
fessional division of the campaign,
and his twin brother Louis C.
Blumberg, chairman of the insur-
ance section of the fund-raising
drive, who celebrated their birth-
day on two days, May 16 and 17.
Explaining the two-tray celebra-
tion, Louis Blumberg said that
while their mother recorded their
birth on May 16, according to the
official records he and his brother
were born on May 17. Unable to
determine the correct date, and
feeling that as twins they were
entitled to a "double" celebration,
the brothers enjoy "two birth-
days."
Although they are not certain of
their birth date, the brothers are
proud of being native Michigand-
ers. Born in Omer, Michigan,
they came to Detroit 32 years ago,
where they graduated from Cen-
tral High School. Enterprising
and ambitious, they opened their
own insurance firm, known as
Blumberg Brothers, which they
successfully operate today.
