Leaders of Bnai Brith Council

TIME: Sunday morning.

Place: Dexter and LaWrence.

QUESTION: Do you agree with
the
American Council for
Judaism that American Jews
are adequately represented at
the UN by the U. S. delegates
and should not be represented
by the Jewish Agency?

GEORGE ENGEL, 8400 La Salle
boulevard, student at Durfee In-
termediate School.

ROBERT WEINTRAUB,

business.

I don't. agree. I belieee the Jew-
ish A;ency should decidedly rep-
resent the Jews. There should be
someone to
speak for the
Jews whose
only, and main
concern is the
Jews. Repre-
sentatives of
nations are pri-
marily con-
cerned with
their nations
and cannot be
expected to
play this role for the Jews at the
same time.
The
representatives of
the
United States, France or England
have other problems which come
first. Our voice would be com-
pletely lost if there wasn't some-
one to represent us alone.
Would this group in England
say that England should repre-
sent the Interests of the Jews
through her delegate to the UN?

capacity, in school and later.
Unhappiness for both the par-
ents and the child result it greater
results are demanded. It does not
help the situation if one child is
compared with another in his own
family or in a relative's family.
Back of much unusual demand
upon a child lies the parent's un-
satisfied life, the lack of an edu-
cation, the demands which the
grandparents placed upon their
child and so thwarted the parent's
own wishes.

I don't agree with this. The
American Jew, as well as the rest
of the Jews in the world, should
have a scat at
the UN. The
United Jewish
Appeal shows
that American
Jews and Jews
in other coun-
tries have a
world-wide in-
terest in this
situation. This
is
interest
greater than
that of all the nations of the ITN
combined. If you wish to prove
it, total up what those countries
have been able to raise for relief
by national taxation or voluntary
contribution and compare that fig-
ure with what the UJA is raising.
The idea having already been
accepted by the nations that there
should be a national Jewish Home-
land suggests there should he a
national representative of this
I lomeland.

tunities, by encouragement, by
fostering expressed interest. When
children arrive, it is much too
late for a parent to express him-
self and to realize his own unfilled
wishes by placing the brunt upon
the child.
There is a place for the ordi-

knows his abilities, who works up
