Spring With Dance

• Engagements

On Wedding Trip to Havana

Mr. and Mrs. Max Weiner announce the engagement of their
daughter Shirley to Dr. Herbert Bean, son of Mrs. Edith Bean of
Broadstreet boulevard and the late Dr. Samuel Bean. Dr. Bean re-
ceived his degree at the Ohio College of Chiropody. An August wed-
ding is planned.
The engagement of Rose Mermelstein was announced this week
by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mermelstein of Hamilton avenue.
She is engaged to wed Harvey Rice, son of Mrs. Emanuel Rice of
Whitmore road and the late Mr. Rice. The prospective groom Is a
graduate of Wayne University and is affiliated with Pi Tau Sigma.
Mr. and Mrs. Beij 1 Kumove of Muirland avenue announce the
engagement of their daughter Frieda to Henry Kenneth Faigin, eon
of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Faigin of Dexter boulevard. The bride-elect
was graduated from Wayne University. Her fiance received his B.A.
and M.A. degrees from Wayne and has done post-graduate work at
the Universities of Wisconsin and Michigan. The wedding will take
place Aug. 10.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Prag of Greenlawn avenue announce the
engagement of their daughter Helene to Franklin Dorman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dorman of Dexter boulevard.
Mr. and Mrs. David Ariaa of Pasadena avenue announce the en-
gagement of their sister Frances Fox to Herbert Ehrlich, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Ehrlich, former Detroiters, of Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Wirt of Grand avenue announce the engage-
ment of their daughter Alyce Eleanor to Harold Freedman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. I. Freedman. The wedding is planned for Nov. 23 at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Mr. and Mrs. Myren M. Landsberg of Huntington Woods announce
the engagement of their daughter Rose to Albert D. Blatnikoff, son
cf Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Blatnikoff of Monte Vista avenue. The bride-
elect is a graduate of the University of Michigan. Her fiance was
graduated from DePauw University and is now attending the graduate
school at the University of Michigan. A fall wedding is planned.

cially greeted spring last Satur-
day with a dance at the Hotel
Park Avenue.
The affair was closed with each
member inviting a guest couple.

jorie Epstein, daughter of Mr and Mrs Benjamin Epstein, to Norman of Hartwell avenue, a son, Samuel Mark.

Rabbi A. M. Hershman officiated at the candlelight ceremony
Wednesday in the main ballroom of the Wardell-Sheraton Hotel.
The bride's sister, Mrs. Sol Miller ,of New York, was matron of
honor and Jean Jaslove, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Rita Bricker, Audrey Gelfand, Norma Jaslove,
Frances Rosenthal and Bette Shanbrom.
