I think there are so few Jews
in comparison with the great
number of non-Jews in govern-
ment employ,
that it would
cause a great
deal of trouble
to put this
measure into
effect. It doesn't
impress me as
being practical.
I don't believe
such Jews are
losing the re-
igious rights
assured them by the Constitution
because they are not forced to
work on Saturday. Also, I don't
believe that so many Jews ob-
serve the. Sabbath. Those that are
really concerned can attend Fri-
day evening services.
Tickets for the shower may be
obtained from the chairman, Mrs.
Anna Goldberg, To. t-4952. Many
letters of thanks have been re-
ceived from European families
acknowledging receipt of the
clothing sent earlier.

hurst, telephone operator.
I don't approve of this bill.
We're living in a primarily non-
Jewish world and one has to live
up to the stand-
ards of the ma-
jority. It's im-
possible to keep
government
operations go-
ing on Sunday
for the small
percentage of
Jewish workers
involved. Any-
w a y , govern-
ment jobs call
for work for a half day on Sat-
urday, and if a man is so re-
ligious that he feels he cannot do
this half day's work, he ought to
get a job some place else where
he will be free on Saturday and
not ask that a whole system be
changed for him.
