• Friday, April 4, 194' DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE and The Legal Chronicle Page Fourteen • Hospitalized Vets Given Days of Fun Drama in a Vienna Courtyard Jewish Center Group Sponsors Program A group of patients from Percy Jones Hospital were in the Shu- bert-Lafayette Theater audience to see "Dear Ruth," Monday eve- ning, March 31 because of the efforts of Detroit men and women who are interested in the activi- ties of the Jewish Community Center Committee for Military Hospital Needs. In addition to being the guests of the theater that evening, they were served dinner by the women of the Jewish National Fund at the USO and before they left the next morning the members of the Alpha Epsilon' Phi alumni group prepare their breakfast. BUILDS MORALE The theater party is just one of a series of well-planned events designed by the committee to pro- vide morale-building recreation away from the hospital for ambu- latory patients. Organized in Jan- uary of this year, the committees originally the Army-Navy commit- tee set up to administer the USO- JWB program, has already or- ganized entertainment in homes and at public amusements for more than 250 men and women. One party _ is arranged each month for a busload of 37 patients, according to Mrs. Maurice A. Lan- dau, chairman of the committee. Also, individualized services such as weekend plans, gift requests and home hospitality are provided as often as possible. The committee has prepared packages of Passover delicacies for the patients at Percy Jones Hospital.
