A HOTEL IN MANHATTAN
offers something they call a Kil-
roy Cocktail, which is nothing but
a piece of lemon peel in an empty
Mass. And when the astonished
customers start stuttering indig-
nantly, the waiters blandly ex-
plain, "Kilroy was here."

IT'S RARELY A DAY that one
falls to spot some publicity on
Phil Grossman, Sam Goldfarb and
Milt Drapkin who have success-
fully put across "College Inn," a
nite club atmosphere without
liquor. Again this Satdee nite,
College Inn will feature Lyle Car-
lise for dancing with a floor show
at the Tuller Hotel.
Chuck Levy, new BBYO direc-
tor, will be welcomed at a stag
put on by the AZA chapters in
Detroit and Windsor . . . At the
same time, the Chapter 63 basket-
ball squad will receive hi blessing
from the local chapters before
it departs for the AZA Milwau-
kee tourney.
The social hall of the Bnai Mo-
she will be lit up Sunday March
23 for the YPS Pre-Passover
dance . . . Shirley Rosen, Rose
Zeigler and Harry Alpiner will

new form of rhumba that's the
rage in New York and Miami
has finally descended upon De-
troit, says Bob Morgan of the
Robert Morgan Studios of Danc-
ing . . . It's a combination of
downbeat, off beat and retarded
rhythm. Bob says the teacher's
at his school get a real kick out
of teaching it.

MISS FAY ZAGER, president
of the Rabbi Mandel M. Zager
Chapter of Baal Brith, an-
nounces an enthusiastic response
in the group's membership drive.
"We welcome our new members
and hope they will take an
active part in our chapter and
the noble work of Bnai Brith,"
she said. Site lauded her mem-
bership for their efforts in the
drive, adding special praise to
Mrs. Helen Ring, membership
chairman; Mrs. Lillian Onrich,
co-chairman; and Miss Lucille
Zager, who received the council
award for bringing in 60 mem-
bers. Also acclaimed were Mes-
dames Goldie Lebowo, financial
secretary; Helen Gorshune,
treasurer; Edith Steinberg, cor-
responding secretary; Mrs. Fre-
da Ersher, chairman of hostess
and hospitality, and the latter's
committee.
