DETROIT BNAI BRITH lodge has the youngest president in

I-N• the order.
He is 21-year-old Sidney Burk, who heads the George Gershwin
Lodge, the first unit to be chartered by Bnal Brith here since the
end of the war.
That a person of Burk's age should be chosen to lead a group.
most of whose members are older than he, is not surprising. One
who spends 90 percent of his free time on Bnai Brith activities Is a
natural for the job, the 185 members concluded in selecting Burk.
It should also be noted that '75 of those members were brought
in by Burk, who as a result won
the lodge's membership contest.
"I would like to see the entire
Bnai Brith of Detroit get together
and purchase or erect a building,
In which meetings and social
events can be held," Burk said.
