Though all our plans for relief are cen-
tered on the United Jewish Appeal just
now, we must not turn a deaf ear to the
plea for support by the American Red Cross.
In a sense, the two drives complement each
other, though, of course, the Red Cross
offers emergency assistance chiefly to non-
Jewish communities whether at home or
abroad.
In addition, the Red Cross helps to pro-
vide cheer and comfort to the 2,000,000
American boys and girls still in the service
in U. S. camps and overseas, offers guid-
ance to the veteran returning to civilian
life, maintains the local blood banks and
provides a multitude of other community
services.
Do not turn down the voluntary worker
who will ask you for your contribution. If,
you are not contacted, send in your check'

and rest assured that your gift will bring
comfort and sustenance to those who need
both desperately.
