Study Club, National Council of
Jewish Women, Shaarey Zedek
Sisterhood, Temple Beth El Sis-
terhood, Temple Israel Sisterhood
and Women's League of Sabbath
Observance are working on a
project for p. concert by the De-
troit Symphony Orchestra present-
ing Jewish composers only.
Mr. and Mrs. Rube Sharfman
of Monterey avenue announce the
engagement of their daughter Mil-
dred to Irving Robinson, son of

BETTY GLASS
The engagement of Betty Glass,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Glass of Blaine avenue, to Samuel
Elkind, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mor-
ris Elkind of San Francisco, has
been announced by the bride-
elect's parents.
Miss Glass is a graduate of
Wayne University. Her fiance re-
ceived his degree at San Fran-
cisco State College. He also at-
tended Stanford University.
Following their marriage, • the

Jacob Becker, cellist with the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and
Irving Rosengard, baritone, will
share the spotlight at the Halevy
Singing Society's second concert
of the season. It will be at 8:30
p. m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the
Lecture Hall of the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts.
The Halevy chorus, directed by
Dan Frohman, will be heard ac-
companied by Rebecca Frohman,
pianist. Shirley Zaft, soprano, and
Bella Goldberg, alto, will sing solo
lines.

At a meeting of the Goose Cous-
ins Club in the home of Mrs.
Herman Goose, the appointment
of the following officers was made
by Mrs. Arthur Carnick, president.
Mrs. Leonard Roth, corresponding
secretary; Mrs. Herman Bloom
and Mrs. Samuel Goose, sunshine
committee; Mrs. Harry Siegel, so-
cial gift committee; and Mrs. Joe
Katz, sergeant-at-arms.
Charles Anthony, son of Mr. and
Mrs. H. F. Anthony, who recently
completed his studies at Michigan
State College, is 'an announcer on

North Star Camp
Names Advisers
The North Star Camp for Boys
whose second season will °On
June 27 will have a distinguished
advisory board, Ben Rubenstein,
director, announces. The camp is
in Hiawatha National Forest,
Steuben, Mich.
Advisers include Dr. R. W. Ca-
vell, psychiatrist; Dr. Marion
Fitsimmons, psychological consult-
ant for the Grosse Pointe schools;
Dr. Emil Froelicher, psycho-ana-
lyst; Mrs. Dorothy Mitchell, Red
Cross worker; Dr. Fritz Redl,
professor of group psychology at
Wayne University; Dr. Editha
Sterba, child analyst; Dr. Lennart
Wiren, head of Recorder's Court
psychopathic clinic; and Mrs. Bay re
Levin, clubwoman.
Rubenstein is director of group
therapy for the Sigma Gamma
Hospital for Crippled Children.
"In our camp", he said, "the
child is placed in a carefully
selected group under understand-
ing leadership where he can be
helped to mature and to develop
social skills."
CAREER GROUP
The Dramatic Group of the
Council of Jewish Women, Career
Group, made its debut recently at
the Jewish Center with an inter-
pretation of the one-act play,
"Midnight," starring Shirley Gold-
mintz and Edna Greenbaum.
