Services and a special program will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, by the junior congregation of the Central branch at Congregation Enai David. Refreshments will be served by the parent teachers group. The Parkside branch will honor the festival Sunday in the school. A Siyum, the custom of celebrat- ing the completion of study of one book and the commencement of study of another, will be observed at 11 a. m. Sunday at the Rose Sittig Cohen School and Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Philadelphia-Byron School. This ceremony will also take 'place at the graduation exercises of the Parkside and the David W. Simons branches Jan. 12 and Jan. 19 respectively. A pre-campaign rally for or- ganizational delegates and work- ers of the Detroit Palestine Histad- rut (Geverkshaften) campaign will be held at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Rose Sittig Cohen Auditorium, 13226 Lawton avenue. Final plans will be made for the inauguration of the 1947 drive at a city-wide conference Jan. 5 in the Brown Memorial Chapel of Temple Beth El. The guest speaker of the rally Thursday will be Dr. Benjamin Schwadron, director of research of the American Zionist Emergency Group Formed Here to Spur DP Entry here. Dr. Bernard is associated with Earle G. Harrison, dean of the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania and chairman of the National Citizens Committee on Displaced Persona. The Michigan committee is en- deavoring to bring before Con- gress the views of representative groups in Michigan with respect to the critical situation facing dis- placed persons in Europe. Attended by more than 250 young delegates from 31 states, the Young Zionist convention adopted resolutions calling "for an undi- vided and undiminished Palestine as a Jewish State." Declaring that "no confidence can be placed in the British gov- ernment," the convention declared "that the Jewish people cannot and will not honor policy, White Paper, on the part of the manda- tory power to limit Jewish rights in Palestine."
