Chanukah Hymns to Highlight Senior Hadassah Group Events Programs typifying the spirit of Chanukah will feature Hadassah's group meetings Tuesday. All will open with luncheonettes for paid- up members at 1 p.m. and will in- clude a report on the recent Had- assah convention in their program. Central East Group will meet at the Jewish Community Center. The convention report will be given by Mrs. J. S. Sauls, executive chairman, and a film entitled "It Can Be Done" will be shown. Central West Group will meet at the Shaarey Zedek. There will be community singing of Chanu- kah songs, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Morris Lipshy. Sholem Aleichem's "Old Country" will be reviewed by Mrs. Morris Adler and the convention will be reported by Mrs. Julian Tobias, executive chairman. Leonard J. Grossman, attorney and orator, will be guest speaker. As a founder and an early presi- dent of the Jewish Progressive Club of Atlanta, Ga., Grossman was appointed a delegate to the first and second American Jewish Congress in 1914 and 1917 and a delegate from Chicago , in, 1923 to the third congress. Mrs. Jeannette Sheplow and Er- win Glaedey, in charge of pro- grams of the auxiliary and lodge respectively, were instrumental in bringing Grossman to Detroit. GREATER DETROIT COUNCIL The Anti-Defamation League workshop, sponsored by the Wo- men's Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Council and the Jewish Commu- nity Council will continue on the third Wednesday of each month, Mrs. Charles Maki, chairman, has announced.
