Sales 'Gratifying'

Dr. Joseph Starman, head of
ticket sales for the Detroit Zion-
ist District's Balfour Ball said,
the response has been most grati-
fying."
He added that the need to in-
tensify the work of the Zionist
organization is such that it be-
comes imperative to provide great-
er funds for the local office. Pro-
ceeds of the affair scheduled for
Dec. 21 at the Hotel Statler will
be used in this connection.
A. C. Lappin is chairman of the
ball. Two orchestras will furnish
music. An extra ballroom has been
obtained for dancing.

at interfaith Rites

The Temple Beth El Quartet
will render the vocal music at the
annual interdenominational
Thanksgiving service Thursday
morning at the Art Museum.
Thanksgiving services were start-
ed 40 years ago by Dr. Leo Frank-
lin. In addition to the quartet,
Temple Beth El will be represent-
