Council to Hold Fashion Review
at Its Membership Luncheon

Mrs. Joseph M. Welt, president
of the National Council of Jewish
Women, will speak at a paid-up
membership luncheon of the De-
troit Section at 12:30 p.m. Mon-
day, Dec. 2„ at Jewish Community
Center. Her topic will be "Our
Responsibilitiy — Today and To-
morrow."
During the luncheon, "Day by
Dav," a fashion revue written
and edited by Mrs. Herschel V.
Kreger and Mrs. Ben Shwhyder
and directed by Mrs. Richard
Freund, will be presented.
Mrs. Sidney Solomon is advisor
to the style show committee and
her co-chairmen are Mesdames
Marvin Alexander and Aaron Ger-
shenson. Other members of the
committee are Mesdames King
Shwayder, Arnold Cohen and
Michael Roberts.
Clothes for the show will be
modeled by council members. The
clothing will be turned over to
the Resale Shop, 3166 Cass avenue,

twelfth annual donor luncheon of
the Primrose Benevolent Club,
Tuesday afternoon, at the Hotel
Book Cadillac. Mrs. Max Vitenson
is general chairman and Mrs.
Joseph Rodman is toastmistress.
The luncheon will feature a fash-
ion show by Sax-Kay and a mu-
sical program by Barbara Traub.

Dr. Paul L. Fraiberg has been
elected ptesident of the Detroit
Haifa Chapter of the Zionist Or-
ganization of America, a recently-
formed young peoples business and
professional group.
Other officers are Dr. Bernard
Weston, first vice-president; Mrs.
I. Walter Silver, second vice-
president; Harold Weisman, third
vice-president; Mrs. Louis L. Kaz-
dan, secretary; Dr. I. Walter Sil-
ver, treasurer.
Mrs. Paul L. Fraiberg and Dr.
Louis L. Kazdan were elected to
the board of directors. Mrs. Al-
bert A. Schwartz is publicity

Music Study to Map
Concert at Luncheon

Work is progressing on the con-
cert plans of the Music Study
Club for the introduction of Jacob
and Isidor Lateiner Dec. 16 at the
Art Institute.
The second in a series of lun-
cheon concert meetings will be
held Tuesday at the home of Mrs.

avenue. Plans will be made for
the sale of patron and regular
tickets.

Folk Choir Charts
Memorial Concert

The Detroit Jewish Folk Chorus
will commemorate the tenth anni-
versary of the death of Jacob
Schaefer, founder of all folk chor-
uses in the United States, at its
mid-winter concert Dec. 1 at the
Scottish Rite Cathedral, Henri
Goldberg, director, announced.

who recently appeared in the all-
veteran opera, "Poco Poco", will
be featured in Schaefer's oratorio,
"Moshiach Ben Yosef", and will

Dr. Andrew C. Ivy, internation-
ally known physiologist, will be
guest speaker when North End
Clinic holds its twentieth anniver-
sary dinner at the Wardell-Shera-
ton Hotel on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Dr. Ivy, who is vice president
of the University of Illinois, will
discuss: "Some Future Attainable
Goals in Medical Research." The
dinner will mark 20 years at the
clinic's present site at 936 Hol-
brook avenue.
The first staff executive commit-
tee of the Clinic consisted of Dr.
Harry C. Saltzstein, chief of staff,
Dr. William H. Gordon, Dr. Leo
L. Newfield, Dr. Louis D Stern
and Mrs Eleanor Jones Ford. Mrs.
Ford, a public nurse of long ex-
perience, was brought to Detroit
in 1924 and served as the clinic's
director until 1938.
Appearing in the list of 1927 ap-
pointments, the year when ap-
pointments were first formally
made, are the names of a number
of physicians who still serve on
the medical staff. They include
Doctors Bernard Bernbaum, Leon
Coven, Daniel Cohn, Martin Z.
Feldstein, Arthur A. Gilbert, Wil-
liam H. Gordon, Breyton Jones,
Ezra Lipkin, Sol G. Meyers, David
J. Sandweiss, Harry C. Saltzstein,
I. S. Schembeck, Benjamin Schlain,
Louis D. Stern, George Waldbott
and Joseph Wruble.
