Two cans of food for overseas
relief will be the price of admis-
sion to the Junior Service Group
meeting at 8 p. m. Thursday, Nov.
21 in the social hall of Shaarey
Zedelt.
Cooperating in the SOS emerg- ,‘
ency collection, the JSG program\
committee will donate the canned - 1
food to the drive.
In addition to a discussion of
Jewish overseas relief activities,
the meeting, to which all Detroit
Jewish youth is invited, will in.
elude a dance to the music of a
popular orchestra. The Hadassah
chorus will participate.

Starting on their drive to collect
canned goods and medical supplies
for the SOS (Supplies for Over-
seas Survivors), the newly formed
committee, headed by Mrs. Harry
Singer and Mandell Berman, an-
nounces the acquisition of a ware-
house, donated by Allen Industries.
The warehouse, on Hastings and
Milwaukee streets, will be the final
depot for all SOS goods being
shipped in boxcars to the JDC
warehouse in Mt. Vernon, N. Y.,
before going to survivors of Hit-
lerism in Europe.
TRUCKING DONATED
Other important contributions
Include trucking facilities, donated
by the Faygo Beverage Company
and Max Goldhoff, and burlap
bags, contributed by the Big Bear
Markets.
Morton Feigenson heads the
mechanical processing committee,
whose function Is to see that the
canned goods and medical sup-
plies are collected, packed, loaded
and transported.
Feigenson requests volunteers to

AIDS REFUGEE RELIEF
The SOS collection was projected
by the Joint Distribution Commit-
tee as a special effort to supple-
ment its existing relief program
because of the desperate needs of
th Jews abroad.
Official collection depots are
Temple Beth El, Community Cen-
ter, Rose Sittig Cohen Branch of
the United Hebrew Schools and
Shaarey Zedek.

The Julius Rosenwald Post 218
will hold an Armistice Day dance
at 9 p. m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at
the Jewish Community Center.
The post held its annual instal-
lation of officers Oct. 26.
Max Ornstein was installed for
a third consecutive term as com-
mander. Others were H. Paysner,
senior vice-commander; M. Rosen,
junior vice-commander; N. Min-
koff, adjutant; I. Cohen, finance
officer; Dr. Goldstone, chaplain;
A. Curtis, historian; M. Forman,
sergeant-at-arms; I. Garmel, ser-
vice officer, and Jacobson, wel-
fare officer.
Plans for a community memorial
home have been drawn up by the
post. A campaign to solicit funds
for its erection will take place
soon. The building will serve as a
community building and a legion
hall for the post.
Hyman Paysner, in charge of
the membership committee, said he
hoped to raise the membership to
