A men- cam 'elfish Periodical Cotter CLIFTON AVENUE - CINCINNATI 20, 01110 Friday, November 1, 1946. DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE and The Legal Chronicle Page Five To Our Fellow Citizens: Our country stands at the crossroads of history. The election next Tuesday may well determine our destiny for the next fifty years. We must decide now for peace or war, for prosperity or ruin. You must be aware that the foices of reaction want to turn the clock back. They seek to destroy the great social gains made under the inspired leadership of the late, revered Franklin D. Roosevelt. The forces of reaction must be stopped. You can stop them with your vote. You must do it. The great masses of the American people recog- nized in Franklin D. Roosevelt the great ideals and the unswerving liberalism that made him the prophet and hope of the common man. Under him, America made great strides forward. Under him, the world felt the great, good heart of America. Roosevelt's program of progressive liberalism is still the fundamental policy of the Democratic party. President Truman has reaffirmed his great predeces- sor's whole social program. He has also reaffirmed an unequivocal stand on the immediate admittance of one hundred thousand Jews into Palestine. To retain the great social progress accomplished under the Democratic party in the last thirteen years, to promote full employment, to work toward a foreign policy that means future peace, we sincerely urge you to VOTE DEMOCRATIC next Tuesday!
