WORTHY OF THE ATTENTION AND INTEREST .OF ALL VOTERS IN DETROIT Friday, November 1, 1946 ENOUGHL1 "Everybody wants to get into the act"--so says a popular radio comedian. THAT'S what's wrong with the Government today. This isn't funny — it's PATHETIC, it's SERIOUS! Unnecessary food shortages exist In this land of plenty—the housing situ- ation makes our veterans sometimes wonder whether the whole thing was worthwhile —education and school facilities are ridiculously limited—there's a terrific steel shortage —try to buy an automobile—we have a shortage of transportation facilities—all kinds of strikes make the head lines daily—there's no peace of mind—no confidence in the future . . . nothing but unrest. Is that what YOU want? Of course not! Isn't it time we did something about it . . . to do some house-cleaning in Washington? Isn't it time that we put intelligent men of practical experience and keen vision in Congress, to put America back on its feet as soon as possible? Remember, AMERICA IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS CONGRESS—never forget that for a minute. We need teamwork in Congress. We must get rid of the "bunglers" and put men in office who have proven themselves outstanding citizens by their past records. Let's take the guess-work out of our future by entrusting the job of getting things done to capable men. There is too much Government control right now. Let's give America back to Ameri- cans. Let's give business the go-ahead sign to produce in a big way, and we will see plenty of everything for everyone. Competition will bring costs down to presVar levels, then everyone will be able to buy the things they need and want at prices they can afford to pay. Strictly on the basis of merit, you should vote for HOWARD A. COFFIN. His fine record as a citizen speaks for itself. Never before i in Detroit's history has a man run for Congress who was better qua E t- ied. HOWARD A. COFFIN has never before held political office. c. was drafted by a large group of Detroiters in every walk of life to help America get things done now . . . right away; so that men, women and children can benefit without suffering further aggrivation. 946 rewlsh / Or- Mon.
