The League of Jewish Women's
Organizations, which will hold its
first open meeting of the season
Wednesday, Oct. 30, Invites all De-
troit women to attend. Preceding
this meeting at 1 p. m. in the
Jewish Community Center, a des-
sert luncheon will be served.
Mrs. Samuel B. Danto will be
installed as president.
Mrs. Robert Lewiston, who is
in charge of the displays to be
shown by the league's affiliated
organizations, at this meeting, asks
each group to present an exhibit
depicting its work in serving the
community and nation.
The Britt! David Sisterhood will
join other organizations previously
named in hostess duties at the
luncheon.
Mrs. Harry Becker's skit, "Pas-
sing Day", will be the entertain-
ment feature of the program.

At the annual election meeting
of Kvutzah Ivrith Oct. 19, the fol-
lowing officers were elected:

man, first vice president; Samuel
Lehrman, second vice-president;
S. Kasdan, secretary; J. Cashdan,
finance secretary; Sol Edelman,
treasurer; Joseph Haggai and
Norman Ruttenberg, chairmen of
cultural programs; M. Michlin,
chairman of the committee for
Propogation of Hebrew Books and
also head of Hebrew Day; Morris
Plafkin, reporter; B. Isaacs and
Aaron Toback, editors of the an-
nual Hebrew publication, and Sam-
uel Lehrman, financial secretary
of Hebrew publication.

Ladies Auxiliary.

can Seamen's Association is not a

which our volunteer crews will
man," he said, "will be Hebrew
repatriates from Europe to Pal-
estine." Finkelstein added that "al-

Hebrew Ladies Aid
Luncheon Tuesday

The thirty-fifth birthday anni-
versary of the Hebrew Ladies Aid
Society will be celebrated Tues-
day, Oct. 29, with a subscription
luncheon at the Book Cadillac
Hotel.
Mrs. Helen Auslander, honorary
president of the society, will serve
as master of ceremonies and will
review the activities of the organi-
zation since its inception 35 years
ago.
The following members who have
served as presidents of the so-
ciety will be honored at the
luncheon: Mesdames Julius Ring,
Louis Kepes, Paul R. Freeman,
Abe Miller, Elfreda Greenwald, I.
E. Liebson and Charlotte Davidson.
Mrs. Douglas I. Brown will be
guest speaker, and will be intro-
duced by Mrs. Helen Rosen-
thal, president.

(Bessie Helen Surath) of Bay City
and formerly of Detroit, announce
the Bar Mitzvah of their son Wil-
liam Allen Saturday, Oct. 26 at

4 Rabbis to Give
Hadassah Talks

Mrs. M. A. Wayne, education
chairman of Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah, announces a series of
four Town Hall meetings, to be
held at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1,
8, 15 and 22.
The meetings will be addressed
by four Detroit rabbis on sub.
jects of timely interest. In order
to accommodate the expected large
attendance, the lecture will be
given in the auditorium of the
Jewish Community Center, Wood-
ward at Holbrook avenues.
Dr. B. Benedict Glazer of Tem-
ple Beth El will open the series
with a talk on "The American
Jewish Scene." The subsequent
meetings will be addressed by
Rabbis Leon Pram, Morris Adler
and Eliezer Levi. There is no ad-
mission charge.

sah's educational work for the
