Wed at a Candlelight Ceremony

Bernice Simon, Who will be wed
to Bernard Linden Oct. 15 at the
Book Cadillac Hotel has been en-
tertained by many friends in honor
of the coming event.
Mrs. Louis Linden, mother of
the groom, was hostess at a mis-
cellaneous shower at the Wilshire
Hotel on Sept. 17. Mesdames Nate
Lurie, George Kleinman, Minnie
Hock and Ann Selker were host-
esses at a shower at the Canter-
bury House Sept. 14.
The faculty of the Bishop School
where Linden is teaching gave a
dinner party Sept. 27. Miss Helen
Mattes gave a luncheon shower nt
Frame's Sept. 28, and Mrs. S. B.
Weiner entertained at her home
Oct. 2.
The staff of the Jewish Social
Service Bureau, where Miss Simon
is a case worker entertained with
a luncheon party. Mrs. J. Stewart
Linden was hostess at a supper
party Oct. 7 and Mrs. Sam Wald-

Engagement Revealed

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lichtenstein
of Thatcher avenue announce the
engagement of their daughter Ba-
bette to Robert Golden, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Golden of
River Rouge.
The wedding date has been set
for Nov. 17.
Golden was graduated from the
University of Michigan in 1940
with a Bachelor of Arts and Econ-
omics degree. He was affiliated
with Kappa Nu. He served over
four and a half years in the Army.
Miss Lichtenstein attended
Wayne University.
