With Sally Fields

A

HAPPY NEW YEAR! A con-
tented New Year! And above
all a healthy New Year . . .
Let's start the New Year oft
right with the firm resolution, not
that "charity
begins at home"
but that it Is
more "blessed
to give than to
receive." We
have a year
ahead of us
that will mean
sacrifice to
ny, that will
Sally Fields
call for ne.p, financial as well as
otherwise, and when each and
everyone of us must deem it his
solemn duty to lend a helping
hand . . .
Be grateful that you are able
to give, no matter how much or
how little . . . "Helft liebe men-
schen un Gott vet etch takeh
benschen."

YOU'VE SIMPLY GOT to give
your gal a treat she'll remember
for a long, long time . . . Take
her to the Russian Samovar.
You'll be intrigued with the tasti.
ness of the food, delighted with
the picturesque manner in which
it is served to you and thrilled
with the homelike, atmospheric
surroundings. Colonel Maybohm,
personally prepares the special
dishes. Among his favorite is his
veal a la Moscow. Many a chef
has tried to discover the secret
recipe. The Colonel has recently
developed a Russian peach cream
dessert which is out of this world.

HERE'S A GANG that's got
got what it takes: the Shayowitz
(Grosse Pointe Grocers) ,clan are
a handsome lot and a go-getting
outfit. "Poppy" Shayowitz started
away back in 1921 with a 90
square foot warehouse en the
pavement at Russell and (Ira-
Hot. Today he boasts one of the
largest and most efficiently
equipped food warehouses in the
United States. It covers 176,000
square feet of space, has 25 sales-
men and 22 trucks.

those days in '21. There's Nate,
who is the wizard of the ware-
house. Ile gets the stuff rolling...
Sol, is the buyer and the treas-
urer of the firm. Ile's continually
searching the markets and con-
ning growers and packers for
the things he needs to produce...
Max, is the super salesman,
(what a handsome hunk of man
he is!) and promotion wizard.
Together they make a great team
(Pop of course, is the big boss
still) ... They tell you that the
story of their success is simple...
It's a story of four guys fool
enough not to say "quits", smart
enough to know that in "unity
there is strength" and so stick
together and honest enough to
give the other fellow au even
break . . .
That's good thinking and, as
a result gets its just rewards.
Here's "mazer boys, and may it
always be all good.

YOU'D NEVER DREAM she's a
grandma! or am I telling tales out
of school, Babe? But, really it's
just because Babe Sutton, manager
of the Peggy Ann Frocks on
Grand River at Joy road knows
her clothes. The right things to
wear and the right things to go
with them . . . Knowing how to
dress does exciting things for your
figure even if you are not lucky
enough to be the silhouette type...
For a more elegant you, let Babe
help you choose your frock from
her store. The Peggy Ann Frocks
is out of the extremely high rent
belt. You'd be surprised at the

DID YOU SEE the hundreds of
people who crowded the store and
the streets in front of The House
of Chairs, Eli Robinson's latest
venture? Such an array of ex-
quisite modern furniture! And
what a spacious and simply beau-
tiful store. Detroit can really be
proud of the type of business pla-
ces our people are venturing in,
out Livernois-Six and Seven Mile
